• Field Surveying & Measurements
• Conduct boundary, topographic, construction layout, and setting-out surveys using GPS/GNSS, total station, theodolite, and level instruments
• Establish and verify horizontal and vertical control points, measuring angles, distances, and elevations precisely.
• Boundary & Legal Surveys
• Define, mark, and verify property boundaries; conduct cadastral surveys for legal deeds or rights-of-way.
• Research land records, historical maps, and survey documents to ensure accurate delineation.
• Construction Layout (Setting-Out)
• Provide staking out of buildings, roads, utilities, and infrastructure according to design plans and coordinate systems
• Verify in-field placements match design and make corrections as needed .
• Data Processing & CAD Drafting
• Import raw survey data into AutoCAD 2D/3D, generate as-built drawings, topographic maps, plats, digital terrain models (DTMs), and coordinate exports/imports .
• Analyze discrepancies, ensure QA accuracy, and export survey data for field use.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain detailed field notes, sketches, photos, calibration logs, and geodetic calculation records .
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly survey reports, maps, legal descriptions, and deliverables in client-approved formats
• Quality Control & Instrument Calibration
• Perform calibration and maintenance of survey instruments (e.g., total stations, GNSS units, levels); conduct QA checks to maintain accuracy.
• Validate data and calculations to maintain high precision (typically ±95% accuracy or better)
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, project teams, legal professionals, and clients to align survey outputs with project needs
• Attend site meetings, inspect setups, resolve discrepancies, and ensure compliance with project specifications .
• Compliance & Regulatory Adherence
• Ensure survey activities comply with local laws, zoning regulations/QCS standards, professional licensing requirements, and ethical guidelines
• Provide legal descriptions and boundary documentation for land records, registration, and submission to municipal authorities.
• Stay updated on evolving surveying technology (e.g., drones, GIS, TLS, 3D scanning) and apply best practices.
• Advise project stakeholders on survey feasibility, methodology, legal implications, and technical limitations.
