Job Title: Maintenance Manager - Steel Fabrication Factory

Reports To: General Manager / Factory Manager

Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing, planning, and executing all maintenance activities across the steel fabrication facility, ensuring uninterrupted operation of CNC and non-CNC production lines. The role requires a hands on, practical leader with a deep understanding of steel structure fabrication machinery-including beam lines, drilling lines, blasting machines, saws, beam welding lines, and angle lines-as well as a solid grasp of both mechanical and electrical systems, hardware, and software controls.

The candidate must be proactive, analytical, and capable of leading a multidisciplinary maintenance team to deliver high uptime, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance Planning & Supervision
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all factory equipment and utilities.
• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance tasks for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs, service histories, and spare parts tracking in the maintenance management system (Odoo / PowerFab or similar).
• Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues across CNC and conventional fabrication machines.
• Ensure optimal performance of machines such as:
• CNC drilling lines (beam drilling, flange/web drilling units)
• Angle lines (punching, marking, shearing)
• Beam welding lines and fit up stations
• Shot blasting and painting systems
• Plate cutting, bending, and rolling machines
• Understand and troubleshoot PLC systems, servo drives, HMIs, sensor systems, and motor control units.
• Work closely with OEMs and local service providers for complex hardware/software issues.
• Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and develop a team of technicians, electricians, and mechanics through coaching and technical training.
• Establish standard maintenance procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Spare Parts & Inventory Control
• Oversee spare parts procurement and maintain minimum stock levels for critical components.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and ensure cost effective procurement and timely availability of parts.
• Safety, Quality, and Compliance
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely, complying with company HSE and ISO standards.
• Implement machine calibration, alignment, and safety checks.
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and AISC facility certification compliance through structured maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in maintenance management for steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing plants.
• Strong understanding of:
• CNC systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or equivalent)
• PLCs and HMIs (Siemens, Delta, Schneider, etc.)
• Servo and VFD systems
• Industrial automation and control systems
• Excellent mechanical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software (Odoo, SAP PM, CMMS, etc.).
• Strong analytical, planning, and leadership skills with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing throughput.
• Preferred: Candidate who can join immediately.

Work Environment

• Factory-based with close coordination with production, QA/QC, and engineering teams.
• Must be capable of working under pressure and handling emergency breakdowns.
