THE ROLEThe Principal Consultant (Technical) is responsible for coordinating and ensuring successful implementation of their technical area of expertise within the Temenos suite of product. The Principal Consultant (Technical) plays the role of interface between the project team and the client, and ensures that all actions are taken to fully satisfy the client in all aspects of a technical nature. The Principal Technical Consultant is also responsible for providing guidance and coaching to less experienced Technical Consultants.
OPPORTUNITIESYou will specialize in two or more of the following technical areas:
- Technical architecture and best use of TEMENOS Client services tools
- Configuration of TEMENOS products or interfaces with the products, according to the definitions supplied
- Data migration and related activities
- Act as a Trusted Advisor to the client in the area(s) of expertise, advising on best practices in the market and within Temenos.
- Work with the System Integrator and other sub system architects to design the system, answering questions about Temenos products, capabilities and integration with other subsystems.
- Demonstrate the capability of Temenos products based on specific use cases given by the client.
- Validate the client's solution design and propose changes as required for design aspects that relate to the Temenos product suite.
- Provide expertise to clients in defining additional standard enhancements and advise on best practices.
- Provide advice, guidance and assistance to Temenos Implementation partners on projects, and support project governance roles as directed by regional leadership.
- Lead the identification, definition and coordination of any development activities that may occur during the implementation of TEMENOS products, including additional functionality, interfacing to external systems or conversion programs.
- Lead the installation of custom enhancements, give final validation on technical set up and conduct necessary testing to ensure user acceptance and global quality of the delivered solution.
- Lead, participate or guide in Proof of Concepts as required within implementation or internal projects, including pre sales exercises.
- Advise the client on the SDLC lifecycle from a Temenos product perspective, and participate in validating the design of the client's CI/CD pipelines.
- Advise/validate the client's testing plan, including all testing types, and recommend market standard tools for testing/monitoring based on other clients and case studies.
- Advise the client on setting up a production environment and running TEMENOS products, including application server parameters, application parameters and database administration from a product suite perspective.
- Lead all required technical training for the client, customizing and designing client specific training materials and handouts that are effective and up to date. Run workshops and benchmarks to meet specific project and client needs.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to the project manager on implementation success, potential delays, risks/possible mitigations and resource needs adjustments to achieve project goals.
- Be recognised internally as a specialist on complex technical and business matters; work independently and collaboratively, having mastered the technical and business skills required to accomplish the job.
- Provide guidance, coaching and advice to less experienced consultants; be customer focused, cultivating and building lasting customer relations.
- Have a degree in Computer Science or a related IT discipline.
- Have a minimum of 12 years' experience in the banking and finance industry.
- Have a good understanding of development methodologies, align with the client's methodology and participate in client workshops for solution design; be able to work effectively in multiple complex implementation projects simultaneously.
- Have experience writing functional software specifications.
- Have a successful track record of designing and delivering projects.
- Be able to translate business requirements into IT solutions.
- Have strong analytical skills, be organized, process driven and detail oriented.
- Have good verbal and written communication skills, and good presentation and problem solving skills; be able to work well with the client.
- Be goal oriented, self motivated and a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Be prepared for extensive travel and possible extended stays from home or office.
